Sometimes when we are cooking all day, and taking our time to get to the main courses, I will make a quick bread or some biscuits to get us through our torturous wait. This day, it was pumpkin bread and cream cheese sweetened with vanilla syrup (like Torani or Monin). Ahhh, nice “filler” on our way to the main course. And the really funny thing is that this is what the kids remember most. NOT the meal that we labored over but the “treat” beforehand that was just for them, almost like a secret. Love, love, love.
