My 40th Birthday (but my first in Tennessee)

It was really strange turning 40 without any of you around. I didn’t, and don’t, feel any different. But, one usually expects to be tormented, berated, demeaned, and ridiculed on their 40th. Not me. I woke up to all my little Lovelies baking treats and giving me handmade gifts that they thoughtfully made without prompting. One of my best birthdays ever. Lilbug made me a beautiful hand folded card, and The Boy personalized the inside with a family portrait of us all celebrating.  Abigirl wrote her own card to go with the sweet, soft and gorgeous purse she crocheted for me! They also baked up some cinnamon rolls and crafted the frosting to more appropriate celebratory colors.  Sweet Babies. And my Husband, of course, made me espresso in my favorite mug.

Little did I know when I woke up that morning that I had also turned 40 on God and Country Day. I didn’t even know there was a God and Country Day but now I will never forget it. We ate our treats, drank our comfort and headed out for the Nashville Zoo. A wonderful time was had by All.

  1. I love the cinnamon roll icing. Fantastic!

What a gorgeous card, and sweet, soft, cute-with-a-kitten-in-it purse.

I miss you guys so much. I know I still have that package here waiting to be sent to you. Ahhh! How time gets away sometimes. Is it too late to send that fund-raiser check? Aye, aye, aye.

  2. I look forward to the kids being older and having these times. Right now I settle for cuddles, thank yous, laughs and “here’s a picture for you mama”.
