Star Light Star Bright

Star Light Star Bright Ornament. Free instructions!

Oooohhhh, it’s December! That means that the world is buzzing with Christmas ideas and decorations, jolly music, stars and fattening food (all personal favorites of mine).

I was honored to publish a free pattern on Moogly this week and wanted to share it with you here as well. I think this will be the first in a series of small seasonal ornaments because of my new addiction to garland and bunting. So here it is, Star Light Star Bright, the pattern can be downloaded directly from Moogly! It is a photo tutorial with written instructions so it’s very easy to follow.

I know there are a lot star patterns out there but there are two things I wanted to do a bit differently with this one. Fristly, I wanted it to be petite (this measures 3 inches) and secondly, I wanted the points to really POINT. Here is the result…

I’ve got a bevvy of these made up and I think it’s time to put a garland together. I’ll get some pics soon. Maybe I’ll combine the stars with pom-poms or something like that.

Crochet StarA friend of mine, Pam from Granny’s Love Knots also created a star pattern. It’s similar in structure to the star above, but larger, measuring 4.5 inches wide. I think they would look fantastic together in an ornament set or on a Christmas garland. Here’s a pic of her Stained Glass Star (please click on picture to be taken to FREE pattern):
